Vice-President-at-Large

Reverend Dr. André D. Ivy is a native of Washington, DC and is a proud graduate of DC Public Schools. He earned undergraduate and graduate degrees from Lincoln University, Lincoln, PA and the University of Pittsburgh.

 

He was licensed and ordained into the gospel ministry at the Mount Ararat Baptist Church in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Dr. William H. Curtis.

 

During his theological matriculation he earned a Master of Divinity degree from the Samuel Dewitt Proctor School of Theology, Virginia Union University and a Doctor of Ministry degree, with a focus on preaching and leadership, from United Theological Seminary, Dayton, OH.

 

In February, 2015, Rev. Dr. André D. Ivy was called as the fifth Pastor of First Baptist Church of Marshall Heights, Washington, DC. 

 

He currently serves on the Executive Board of the Baptist Convention of DC and Vicinity. 

 

He serves as an Adjunct Professor at Missio Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Reverend Dr. André D. Ivy is married to the former Ramona R. McWhite and together they have one daughter, Emilie Christine.
